Mental Health Supports & Higher Learning
For many young adults, attending college is an exciting time. The thought of leaving home and creating a role for oneself in society is something that many people can relate to. However, for a large portion of our population, the reality of college life can be daunting. Many college students face challenges and stress that he or she cannot prepare for. College students may not know who or where to turn until it is too late. Some may feel confused by what they are experiencing or embarrassed due to social stigma related to mental illness - crazy, psycho, & nuts are just some of the negative terms related to those who suffer from mental illness. The purpose of this webpage is intended to promote awareness of Mental Health issues in college students by sharing stories of those who have suffered and succeeded, programs and advice offered for support, and legal information related to individual's rights.
